USD 458 DISTRICT INSERVICE
SCHEDULE FOR 2007-08

During the 2007-2008 school year in-service opportunities for students will focus on the new assessment, Measures of Academic Progress or MAP. Early in the year teachers will receive training on how to administer the computerized assessment and access necessary reports. They will then receive additional training in how to interpret these reports to guide instruction of each student. This training will be crucial in establishing the MAP as a valuable teacher tool.
Teacher collaboration days are another important part of our district’s in-service efforts. Eight times a year teachers have an opportunity to spend a half day working in teams to problem solve, share ideas, and address student needs. This is the third year of collaboration and the teachers of USD 458 have found the time extremely worthwhile.
