To earn a General High School Diploma from Basehor-Linwood Virtual School, students must complete 21 credits according to the following required structure:
English - 4 credits required*
English I * English II * English III * Senior English * High School Reading
Math - 3 credits required
Pre-Algebra Applied Math Essentials Algebra 101 Algebra 102 Geometry Algebra II
Science - 3 credits required*
Earth Space Science * Physical Science * Biology * Outdoor Biology (.5)
Social Studies - 3 credits required*
US History * World History * US Government * Psychology Sociology Contemporary Issues
Physical Education - 1 credit required*
Physical Education * Health *
Fine Arts - 1 credit required
Digital Photography Introduction to Art Life Skills Music Appreciation Parenting Wellness
Elective Credits - 6 credits required
A total of 21 credits are required to earn a general high school diploma. Additional credits may be needed to earn a college-prep diploma. A unit of credit is defined as one school hour of class which meets for one full year. A half unit of credit is defined as one school hour of class which meets for one semester.
A student beginning his/her high school career at Basehor-Linwood High School is required to complete the number of required hours defined in the current BLHS student handbook.
Students transferring from outside school districts will be expected to meet full-time enrollment status in order to earn a BLVS diploma.
