ExamN is the online testing system for BLVS. This system provides chapter, unit, and final exam testing for all grade levels and course. Links to ExamN exist on our school website and teacher/course websites. The goal for every student should be to prepare well, and pass each test on the first attempt. The retake function is expected to be used very minimally.
It is considered misuse of the system if tests are taken for a 2nd or 3rd time on a regular basis. Retaking tests may result in the student failing the class, and being required to start the course over from the beginning. The enrollment status of a student will also be in jeopardy if the testing system is misused. Parents/guardians are expected to monitor test taking very closely.
Standard Protocol for Taking Tests
Before attempting to take any test make sure you have been to your course website and completed all of the suggested and required assignments. Students are required to reach at least a 70% on all chapter and unit tests taken from home. If you do not reach the minimum required score of 70% on a test use the following steps to prepare better:
- Log into the online testing system
- Go to the "My Test Scores" page (top left-hand side of screen)
- Click on the test that you failed to reach 70%
- Print the results if possible, or write down the questions you missed
- Look up the answers to the questions you missed
- Use this as a study guide and prepare better
- Take the test again
If you fail a test for a third time, you must contact your teacher for additional instructions. You may be expected to turn in handwritten work to show your teacher that you have indeed completed the work necessary to be successful. You will no longer have access to any additional tests in this course until you have made contact with your teacher.
High School Final Exams
BLVS high school students are required to take proctored final exams at the end of each semester of every course. High school students must schedule and take final exams in the BLVS Office (913) 724-1727 upon completing all required assignments and testing for a particular semester of a course. Students are not allowed to use their textbooks or notes on final exams. Students are expected to reach at least a 60% on final exams on their first attempt. If a student fails to reach the minimum 60% score, the student may be expected to restart the course from the beginning.
Firefox is the best internet browser to use for accessing the ExamN Testing System. If you are using Internet Explorer when accessing the online testing system you may experience problems. Firefox is a free download available at: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
